Information Specialist (Non-Profit)
Miami, FL | $18/hour | Hybrid: 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote
Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
We are seeking a mission-driven professional with direct nonprofit experience supporting vulnerable populations.
This role focuses on conducting intake assessments, evaluating needs, and connecting individuals to critical social service and healthcare resources.
This is not an administrative or front-desk position — it requires hands‑on client engagement, structured assessments, and service navigation experience.
What You’ll Do- Conduct structured intake interviews to assess social, financial, and healthcare needs
- Manage a high-volume caseload of inbound inquiries (40–60 daily)
- Evaluate eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, and other public benefit programs
- Provide resource navigation and referrals to community-based services
- Support seniors and caregivers with clear, empathetic guidance
- Document detailed case notes and maintain accurate client records
- Coordinate with internal departments and external service providers
- Follow up to ensure clients successfully access recommended resources
- Associate’s Degree required (Bachelor’s preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Public Health, or related field)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization (required)
- Experience working with vulnerable populations (elderly, homeless, children, low‑income families, etc.)
- Experience conducting intake assessments and needs evaluations
- Experience providing community resource referrals and service coordination
- Knowledge of public assistance programs including Medicaid and Medicare
- Bilingual in English and Spanish OR English and Creole (required)
- Strong documentation and case note writing skills
- Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining empathy and professionalism
