The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is Florida’s chief health policy and planning entity, responsible for administering the Florida Medicaid program and regulating health care facilities.
Position OverviewThis role focuses on enhancing the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program by managing provider enrollment and site visits in a fast‑paced, team‑based environment.
Responsibilities- Plan and conduct in‑house and on‑site New Provider Enrollment Reviews and validate re‑enrollment reviews of current Medicaid providers.
- Verify professional licenses, business tax receipts, lease information, and other required documentation.
- Research the internet to determine and verify business status and ownership.
- Submit findings and recommendations to Medicaid Fiscal Agent Operations for further action.
- Coordinate with Medicaid providers, Headquarters staff, and SMMC plans to resolve assigned enrollment and site visit issues and document activities in the complaint module.
- Represent the Agency in government and community partnerships, Medicaid overview presentations, secret shopper events, transportation boards, community alliances, interagency agreement teams, local planning groups, and HIV planning councils as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel as required by the position.
- This position is not remote or telework.
- Two years of experience providing professional‑level customer service in a fast‑paced, consumer‑centric environment.
- Experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer programs; quick and accurate typing/keyboarding skills.
- Knowledge of Medicaid policies, procedures, and the overall Medicaid arena.
- Strong data analysis skills and computer proficiency.
- Ability to perform under stressful circumstances.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem‑solving, planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
- Customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Capability to provide training to providers, recipients, coworkers, community agencies, and the general public.
- Ability to travel with or without accommodations.
