Position Summary:

Responsible for the collection and testing of urine specimens at the Miami-Dade County Court House.

Essential Job Functions:

• Meet consumers at the Miami-Dade court area.
• Test urine of referred consumers for illegal/legal substances.
• Provide the Dade County judges with a quick response on the results of the urine specimen testing.
• Ensure the confidentiality of the results of the urine specimens testing.
• Participates in staff training and meetings as they relate to urine specimen testing and court presentations.
• Complete necessary paperwork within the time specified by the department.
• Attend court hearings when subpoenaed.
• Provides coverage as residential program support as needed.
• Maintains safety and security of facility assigned.
• Communicates with Program Coordinator regarding consumers leaving treatment, injuries, or major infractions of rules, including acts of violence and drug use.
• Provide input in clinical team meetings.
• Ensure that all consumers are adhering to established schedules.

• None

Education:

• Must hold a minimum of a high school diploma or G.E.D

Experience and

Competencies:

• One year experience providing services to persons with alcohol and/or drug problems is preferred;
• Bilingual is preferred
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with judges and court personnel.
• Must have computer skills to document results in multiple databases
• Ability to provide an Affidavit of Good Moral Character
• Clearance in Pre-Employment Drug Testing and Criminal Records Checks, as required
• CPR Certification, First Aid Certification and an annual Tuberculosis test.
