Lutheran Services Florida seeks a Community Counselor I to deliver compassionate, community-based counseling and support to children, families, and vulnerable adults across Florida. In this role, you will conduct assessments, develop person-centered service plans, and provide individual, family, and group interventions that promote safety, stability, and well-being. You will coordinate care with schools, healthcare providers, and community partners; respond to crises and complete risk assessments;
document services in electronic records; and participate in team meetings and supervision. Responsibilities
- Provide individual and family counseling to children, adults, and families in community-based settings
- Conduct intake assessments, develop person-centered treatment or service plans, and document progress in electronic records
- Coordinate care and referrals with internal LSF programs, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners
- Facilitate psycho educational and support groups that promote resilience, stabilization, and family functioning
- Respond to crisis situations, conduct risk/safety assessments, and follow appropriate escalation and reporting protocols
- Advocate for clients' access to social, educational, and behavioral health resources and supports
- Maintain compliance with agency policies, ethical standards, and funding/regulatory requirements
- Participate in case staffing, supervision, and team meetings to support integrated service delivery
- Engage in outreach, home visits, and community-based engagement as appropriate to program needs
- Support data collection and outcome tracking to measure program effectiveness and service quality
