Your Work. Their Future.As a Residential Advisor, you’ll play an important role in creating a safe, structured, supportive, and positive living environment for our students. You’ll serve as a mentor, role model, and source of encouragement while helping young adults develop the behaviors, confidence, independence, and life skills needed for success in Job Corps and beyond.

What You’ll Do- Mentor and guide students in developing positive attitudes, appropriate behaviors, independence, and personal responsibility.
- Create a positive residential environment that encourages respect, accountability, teamwork, and peer leadership.
- Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions, and independent living skills development.
- Patrol and monitor dormitories and Center areas to help maintain student safety and appropriate behavior.
- Identify concerns, resolve problems, and arrange student visits with counselors when appropriate.
- Support student activities, including unit government and leadership opportunities.
- Model appropriate behaviors and reinforce Career Success Standards through mentoring and intervention.
- Maintain student files, case notes, daily operations reports, pass lists, and other required documentation.
- Assist students with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming residential environment.
- Recommend or requisition supplies necessary for dormitory operations and student safety.
- Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of Job Corps or related program experience.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when directed.
Preferred:
- Advanced education or degree.
- Valid in-state Driver’s License.
- The position requires the ability to perform activities including sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, stooping, crouching, carrying, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
- Candidates must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and/or appropriately assess a load and request assistance when necessary.
