AI Engineer - Agents Lab

STATIONED runs a venture studio with a growing portfolio of AI products — and the Agents Lab is where those products get built. Right now we are deep in personal agents and learning technology: software that helps real people do more, learn faster, and operate at a higher level with AI as their co-pilot. This is a small, fast team with full access to the latest tools and a genuine appetite for experimentation.

If you want to build products that matter and ship before the big companies figure out what to copy, this is the seat.

• Are curious about AI and already tinkering — even if it is just nights and weekends
• Learn fast and are not precious about how things get done
• Can steer an AI agent to get real work done and enjoy doing it
• Care about the human side of AI — you think about who is using the thing and whether it actually helps them
• Are comfortable with ambiguity — we are building the plane while flying it
• Would rather ship something scrappy than plan something perfect

• Need a fully defined role with a fixed scope to feel comfortable
• Are not willing to use AI tools in your own workflow
• Want to work on one thing for six months without shipping
• Are looking for a big-company job with big-company structure

• Hands-on experience building with agentic tools — you have steered agents to produce real output, not just prompted a chatbot
• Comfort working with LLM APIs directly: prompt design, context management, output handling, and debugging when things go sideways
• You have shipped something end-to-end — an agent, a tool, a product — and can point to it
• Strong ability to figure things out fast: new APIs, new frameworks, new models — you read the docs and go
• Technical foundation in at least one language (Python preferred) and willingness to write code when agents alone will not cut it
• You use AI tools in your own workflow already — not as a novelty, but as a genuine force multiplier

• Experience building consumer-facing AI products or tools real people actually used
• Interest in learning technology, education, or personal productivity — you have thought about how people grow with AI
• Experience with multi-agent systems, agent orchestration, or tool-use patterns
• Public builds, repos, or writing that shows how you think
