React Native Tech Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Technical Leadership

Define and drive the technical vision for React, React Native, and native mobile development across the product area

Architect scalable, performant cross‑platform mobile and web solutions that bridge cleanly with native iOS and Android

Establish and enforce best practices for performance, scalability, security, and code quality across React Native, iOS, and Android codebases

Lead technical decision‑making and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and architecture patterns across all mobile platforms

Create technical design specifications and translate high‑level architecture into working software

Lead feature development and enhancements for cross‑platform mobile and web applications

Architect using the brownfield host‑shell / mobile micro‑frontend pattern, RN New Architecture (Turbo Modules, Fabric), Native Modules, and typed host bridge contracts

Deep knowledge of performance optimization, memory management, and multithreading in cross‑platform environments

Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitrise, Fastlane)

Write clean, testable, maintainable code across shared and platform‑specific modules

Working knowledge of Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, and Objective‑C

Familiarity with modern iOS architectures (MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture)

Familiarity with Swift Concurrency (async/await), Combine, and modern iOS technologies

Experience with XCUITest and iOS performance profiling tools

Knowledge of App Store submission and deployment processes

Working knowledge of Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, and Jetpack libraries

Familiarity with modern Android architectures (MVVM, MVP, Clean Architecture)

Familiarity with performance, memory management, multithreading, and concurrency on Android

Experience with Espresso and Android performance profiling tools

Knowledge of Play Store submission and deployment processes

Ensure strong testing practices:
Jest/RNTL (unit), Detox/XCUITest/Espresso (E2E), and contract tests for the native/RN bridge

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across cross‑platform, native bridge, iOS, and Android layers

Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and maintainability across all mobile platforms

Mentor and guide React Native, iOS, and Android developers through code reviews, pairing, and technical coaching

Foster continuous improvement in engineering practices, tooling, and workflows

Collaborate closely with product, design, and delivery teams to translate requirements into technical solutions

Champion code reuse and shared component strategies across mobile and web while knowing when native implementations are the right choice

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, backlog refinement) to ensure overall engineering progress aligns with roadmaps and timelines

Maintain awareness of engineering health across all technology layers of the product — not just mobile

Identify cross‑layer risks, dependencies, and blockers; engage subject‑matter experts proactively

Ensure that mobile implementations integrate cleanly with native modules, APIs, backend services, and content platforms

Evaluate emerging frameworks and methodologies (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter, Jetpack Compose, SwiftUI evolution, new React Native architecture)

Drive adoption of modern cross‑platform and native mobile technologies and development patterns

10+ years of hands‑on mobile development experience

2+ years in a lead or technical leadership role

Working knowledge of native iOS development (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI, Objective‑C, Swift Concurrency/Combine)

Working knowledge of native Android development (Kotlin/Java, Android SDK, Jetpack)

Strong understanding of brownfield host‑shell / mobile micro‑frontend patterns, RN New Architecture (Turbo Modules/Fabric), Native Modules, and typed host bridge contracts

Experience with modern state management (Redux Toolkit, Zustand, Jotai)
