Job Description & How to Apply Below
Atano is AI-powered credentialing and payer enrollment for healthcare organizations. The work of getting clinicians approved to bill insurance still runs on faxes, spreadsheets, and portals from the early 2000s, and we're automating all of it. We're live with customers and growing very quickly, and this is an early-stage role with real ownership. I'm looking for an engineer who genuinely loves building.
Someone who gets excited about hard problems, ships fast, and wants to play a critical role in scaling Atano.
- Help own the entire technical stack
- Build the AI workflows at the core of the product
- Ship features customers are actively asking for (we have real feedback loops)
- Work directly with the team to develop new features, improve existing ones, and plan our roadmap
- Help figure out what customers need before they know they need it
- You ve shipped real products people use, not just side projects or coursework, but production systems that handle real users.
- Full-stack comfort:
React/Next.js, Node.js, SQL/Postgres, Python, AWS. You don t need to be an expert in everything, but you can t be scared of the frontend or the backend. - Loves building AI workflows
- Strong attention to detail
- You move fast: you ship working code quickly, iterate based on feedback, and don t get stuck in analysis paralysis.
- Product-minded: you care about what users experience, not just what s technically elegant. Perfect code that nobody uses is worthless.
- Low ego, high ownership: you re here to build something great, not to prove you re the smartest person in the room. When something breaks, you fix it. When something s unclear, you ask.
- Accountability: You own outcomes, not just tasks. When things don t go to plan, you take ownership and get it done without placing blame.
- Integrity: When you say you re going to do something, you follow through.
- Communication: Bad communication is the number one killer of early-stage teams. You over-communicate by default: proactively keep the team in the loop, flag problems early, and never go quiet.
- Customer Obsession: We build for the people actually using this. Their problems drive the roadmap.
- Experience or knowledge in healthcare (revenue cycle management, billing, credentialing, payer enrollment)
- You ve been at an early-stage startup before and know what "scrappy" actually means
- Lives in South Florida
- You need a fully-defined plan before you can write code
- You want a 9-5 in the traditional corporate sense (we work hard, but we re not insane)
- You hate when tasks and priorities change quickly
- You need a big team or lots of structure to be productive
- You think you re too good to respond to customer bugs
- You live outside the United States
Compensation:
To be discussed during the interview process
Location:
If you re in the Miami area, fantastic, we have an office and can work in person. Open to remote for the right fit.
