Overview

This position is classified as “in-office.” As an in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida, Tuesday through Thursday each week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.

The Receiving Coordinator will support the department supervisors with their respective roles that include the return of freight back to vendors, supporting and reaching out to vendors, and our purchasing team to get shipment details when vendors forget to provide Carnival details. Reach out to our ships for Amazon shipments and support vice versa when ships reach for their due shipments.

This role will also support moving freight when needed with the forklift, reach truck, and pallet jack. In addition, logging and keeping track of shipments being sent back to the mailroom for a vendor return. Maintaining a so-called vendor access list for the respective homeports and helping review any large shipments that may need a loading plan from the ship.

This position will also assist with the truck ordering of temperature-controlled trailers, frozen, and chilled.

Responsibilities
  • Resolve shipments that arrive with no paperwork or missing important details like the ship’s name, PO number, department name, includes Amazon shipments.
  • Act as liaison between corporate port operations and the warehouse for our destination ports.
  • Process returns to vendor freight via the mailroom and other logistic partners.
  • Monitor and complete vendor access lists for our homeports.
  • Review container and airfreight pre-alerts for bulk shipments and overweight, oversized items.
  • Prepare pallet counts for frozen/chilled food consolidations and order trailers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Bilingual with the ability to speak and write English and Spanish. Great communication skills and open-minded for new ideas.
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years related experience or training in warehouse operations or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of keeping track and logging of orders to support reverse logistics.
  • Knowledge in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able and certified to operate a forklift.
  • Understanding movements over the road or via air. Having worked in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Having the knowledge of how to operate different types of forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment. Able to safely operate different types of equipment to move freight.
