Position: Import Specialist I - Miami, FL

Import Specialist I – Miami, FL

Pay Range: $45,000 – $58,000

Your Role

Part of a shared service center that operates for multiple branches, the Customs Entry Specialist processes the Customs Entry in a timely manner and with accuracy.

What are you going to do?

  • Receive import files to clear through Customs
  • Ensure import clearance files are compliant with US Customs regulations
  • Resolve and communicate clearance issues with internal team members and with customers
  • Prioritize shipments based on ETA or other factors
  • Process customs bonds as needed
  • Process steel licenses as needed
  • Communicate entry release
  • Ensure each file is invoiced correctly
  • Help identify areas that need improvement
  • Assist with new customer implementation
  • Stay up to date with current regulations with US Customs
What are we looking for?

Education and Experience

  • 2-5 years of processing customs entries
  • CHB License is a plus

Skills

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
  • Extensive Excel experience with Adobe PDF knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent in English, both written and oral

Characteristics

  • Ability to learn all aspects of the team’s work, and to provide cover and assistance on a regular basis.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-starter, sense of urgency, communication.
