A leading global organization in the travel retail and logistics industry is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Import Coordinator to join its Miami team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong import/export experience who thrives in a fast-paced international environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with vendors, carriers, customs agencies, and warehouse operations.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in U.S. Customs regulations, FTZ operations, and import documentation processes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and track incoming international shipments from multiple vendors and suppliers.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to obtain required arrival documentation.
- Classify shipments using U.S. Customs Tariff codes.
- Process FTZ admission entries (CF214) and submit documentation through ACE.
- Monitor cargo releases and coordinate warehouse deliveries and pickups.
- Prepare duty-paid entries for bonded merchandise, shortages, damages, testers, and promotional items.
- Create and maintain internal inventory receiving documentation.
- Maintain permit and master file records in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations.
- Calculate storage charges and coordinate payment requests when applicable.
- Prepare and file discrepancy reports related to shortages or damaged cargo.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other governmental agency regulations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in customs import coordination, international logistics, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, FTZ/CBW procedures, and import/export operations.
- Experience working with ACE filing systems and customs documentation.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure in a deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with in travel retail, consumer goods, logistics, freight forwarding, or international distribution environments.
- Familiarity with FDA and USDA import compliance.
