Job Summary
Transports patients from place of origin to appointments in a courteous and timely manner. Position requires a high commitment to service excellence.
Duties & Responsibilities- Pick up and return patients as per schedule.
- Stay in contact with the office to report any changes in schedule, including cancellations.
- Assist patients to get in and out of the vehicle.
- Assist patients with a wheelchair.
- Ensure the safety of all passengers.
- Work flexible shifts as work dictates.
- Deliver deliveries, Holter monitors, and miscellaneous pick‑ups as needed.
- Transport patients to hospital or specialist office.
- Check and maintain the van daily, ensuring it is mechanically safe and clean.
- Report any incident or accident to the supervisor and management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Wear company uniform.
- Utilize phone as routing system.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Up to 1 year of driving experience required; patient transportation preferred.
- Bi‑lingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Clean driving record.
- Knowledge of local streets and addresses.
- Customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to transport members in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and locations.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Basic mechanical skills to check and inspect vehicles daily.
- Ability to reach, lift, carry, and move objects.
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit intermittently and occasionally climb.
- Work extended and flexible hours, including weekends, as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
Work will involve driving/traveling to assigned clinics.
Travel required:
amount of expected travel is variable.
- Computer and peripherals.
- Standard and customized software applications.
- Usual office equipment.
