Transportation Coordinator

Brink’s Global Services is a division of Brink’s Inc, a provider of secure logistics and security solutions worldwide. We have a challenging opportunity for an Import/Export Transportation Coordinator based in the Latin America Regional office in Miami, FL. Starting hourly rate: $23.

The Import/Export Transportation Coordinator provides hands‑on customer service and assistance for the prompt, effective transportation, clearance, import, export and routing of domestic and international parcels in accordance with proper procedures for BGS customers.

• Receive incoming calls, e‑mails, faxes from customers, affiliates, subcontractors and agents and respond to requests for rates, billing issues, service queries in a timely manner;
• Coordinate day‑to‑day activities for Import/Export shipments, interface and coordinate with customers, airlines and field locations;
• Partner with operations staff to determine accurate operational service capabilities;
• Ensure all IATA and US Customs requirements are met in document generation and cargo handling;
• Handle service concerns diplomatically, channel complaints to appropriate personnel as needed;
• Determine and secure paperwork required for all international moves, including commercial invoices and special customs paperwork;
• Decide if a courier is required and arrange courier services with the airport office;
• Respond to inquiries regarding status of items in transit through the system;
• Prepare customs entries and follow up with the clearance process with internal and external partners;
• Scan, file, copy, and assemble documents such as bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses and consulate documents;
• Perform data entry for all export shipments into the operating system and maintain hard‑copy files;
• Research customer claims and ensure the highest level of customer service; channel information to the customer service manager when necessary;
• Ensure transportation arrangements have full consideration of security implications and comply with BGS Procedures and General Security Regulations (GSR);
• Work closely with department members to ensure proper completion and distribution of workload and maintain high quality service.

• At least 1 year of hands‑on air freight export coordination experience, including routing, pricing, and data entry;
• At least 1 year of experience using Microsoft Office and other transportation software;
• Minimum age 21 years;
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours;
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed;
• Fluent in English and Spanish.

• Experience in a fast‑paced high‑volume Import/Export department for an air freight forwarder;
• More than 1 year of experience servicing customers in the transportation/logistics industry as a coordinator, shipment router or similar role;
• Good basic math skills;
• Transferable internal BGS experience in Export, Customer Service, or other operational positions with knowledge of BITS, ATLAS and GARCIA;
• Experience in secured logistics;
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
