PositionGeneral Description
. A Class A Dump Trailer Driver is an hourly-rated skilled craft position that transports debris from the Transfer Station to the Landfill as needed. The role involves performing a variety of tasks and adapting to workflow changes as required.
- Must have a valid Class A CDL with a good driving record within MVR policy guidelines.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations.
- Drive 75-yard transfer trailer trucks to transport materials to/from the Transfer Station and the Landfill.
- Chain and bind equipment being transported (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). daily safety checks of fluid levels and inspect for leaks or damage before operation.
- Maintain the vehicle daily to ensure safe operation.
- Notify a supervisor if the vehicle requires repair.
- Operate and load efficiently as needed.
- Enter and exit the cab safely and climb as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
. This position typically is not entry-level and requires demonstrable experience as a Class A Dump Trailer Driver.
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and coworkers.
- Three (3) to Five (5) years or more of driving-related experience is required.
Physical Demands
. The following physical demands are representative of those required to perform the essential functions of this job.
- Routinely work 10-12 hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Stooping, bending, walking, crouching, and climbing as needed.
- Must be able to climb into and out of the cab safely.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs; repeatedly lift 25 lbs as part of daily tasks.
- Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Continuous mental attention to complete tasks efficiently.
- Potential exposure to dust, dirt, grease, and noise; may require PPE such as safety glasses and hardhat.
- Occasional walking and standing on varied terrain (sand, gravel, pavement, dirt).
- Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Work is performed in indoor (office) and outdoor (construction, landfill, asphalt) settings.
- Exposure to noise, grease, and dust; compliance with OSHA exposure limits is required, with controls or PPE provided.
- Regular proximity to heavy equipment and moving machinery.
- Exposure to substances such as oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, and diesel fuel; exposure limits comply with OSHA standards.
