Overview
Warehouse Agent at Alliance Ground International (AGI) will report to a lead agent or supervisor, ensuring accurate and safe handling of cargo in a fast‑paced, safety‑obsessed aviation environment.
Responsibilities- Facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo to and from trucks.
- Check freight for proper piece count, weight, dimensions and documents when accepting or delivering cargo.
- Issue warehouse receipts or collect signed copies of delivery receipts.
- Ensure cargo release is obtained from office personnel before delivery to consignee or agent.
- Operate basic cargo handling equipment such as forklifts, aircraft pallets and pallet jacks.
- Break down cargo from import flights, sort as required, check freight against manifest and store in proper manner and location in warehouse.
- Build up cargo for export flights following supervisor instructions.
- Keep inventory of freight, warehouse supplies, airline equipment and containers.
- Maintain security of cargo and company equipment, detect tampering or pilferage and report incidents.
- Maintain a clean work area and report damaged or broken equipment.
- Accept assignments from lead agents, supervisors or management.
- Complete paperwork and forms related to work assignments and enter data into the company information system.
- Follow company procedures and protocols to ensure safe operations.
- Complete all required training from company, airport authorities or customers.
- Arrive on time, be prepared, and prioritize safety.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety and security of self and others.
- Cooperate with manager/supervisor to comply with legal requirements.
- Do not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse company‑provided equipment or resources.
- Inform manager/supervisor of any work situation, equipment or activity that poses an immediate danger.
- Report hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents or dangerous occurrences following company and carrier procedures.
- Operate in accordance with AGI Health & Safety and Security policies and training.
- Attend required training courses as mandated by AGI.
This role requires regular lifting or carrying of items weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kg) and repetitive lifting of 40 to 50 pounds on raised surfaces. Workers must also walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently over extended periods, be alert to moving vehicles, communicate via radio, and operate around machinery noise.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Good communication skills, both verbal and radio, to coordinate with flight crew, gate agents and ground crew.
- Basic math skills for calculating piece count, weight and dimensions.
- Computer skills to use systems tracking cargo.
- Problem‑solving skills to troubleshoot loading and unloading issues.
- Time‑management skills to complete tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Minimum 18 years of age with a high‑school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Authorization to work in the United States if location is in the U.S.; or in Canada if location is in Canada.
- Completion of ramp and SIDA training for airport authority identification/security.
- Ability to secure a Customs Seal when required by customer or role access.
- One or more years of relevant experience (preferred).
