Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) is a disaster relief organization headquartered in Doral, Florida, with facilities across Ukraine, Poland, Jamaica, MENA, and Hawaii. GEM coordinates rapid, large-scale humanitarian response through direct partnerships with carriers, brokers, and local relief networks.

THE ROLE

The Transportation Manager leads inbound and outbound road freight across the U.S. and Canada, from donor intake and load scheduling to final delivery. This role bridges corporate donors, warehouse operations, emergency management partners, and a growing network of transportation providers, ensuring every move is documented, tracked, and executed on time.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Book and schedule over-the-road transport with a range of service providers and partners.

Create and manage load documentation.

Coordinate inbound shipments from corporate donors to GEM facilities.

Coordinate outbound shipments to emergency management agencies and inter-facility transfers.

Support drayage moves for ocean freight shipments; understand the mechanics of ocean and air freight and when alternative modes may be utilized.

Liaise with donors, warehouse facilities, and delivery locations to confirm cargo readiness and arrival.

Build and evaluate relationships with transportation providers; source and vet new carriers as needed.

Maintain detailed records of all transport moves, including data entry and tracking.

Review and scrutinize packing lists and cargo documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Troubleshoot logistics issues and identify system improvements.

Travel to oversee loading, verify inventory against packing lists, and resolve issues on site.

QUALIFICATIONS

Transportation or logistics experience required.

English and Spanish language skills preferred.

Highly detail-oriented with meticulous attention to documentation and accuracy.

Exceptional responsiveness and ability to prioritize urgent, time-critical moves.

Professional communication style with corporate donors and external stakeholders.

Strong scheduling and coordination skills with ability to manage multiple simultaneous moves.

Systems-oriented mindset: comfortable following established processes and identifying improvements.

Proactive troubleshooting approach to identifying and resolving logistics issues.

Available for immediate travel on short notice.
