What You’ll Will Get To Do
We are seeking a diligent and detail‑oriented Inventory Cycle Counter to join our Inventory Control team. The employee is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by performing cycle counts and recounts as per the CRL Cycle Counting program. The employee is also responsible for locating misplaced products and researching root causes of inventory discrepancies such as verifying and matching receipts and internal transfers, making comparisons to previous cycle counts, and troubleshooting with the Purchasing and Receiving teams.
The employee uses SAP as well as internally developed web‑based cycle‑counting apps.
- Follow all company safety rules and regulations.
- Interface with SAP, Pullers, and Excel files to obtain products that need to be cycle counted.
- Cycle count products daily based on the product ABC classification, last count date, and last count variation.
- Perform on‑demand cycle counts and locate mislabeled/misplaced products.
- Adjust on‑hand stock as per inventory adjustment procedures, current adjustment codes, and escalation processes based on adjustment value.
- Assign warehouse locations to products and update warehouse racking labels and product labels as needed.
- Research inventory discrepancies with support from Purchasing, Receiving, Putway team, and all CRL Service Center Warehouse Managers. Obtain paperwork to support research (such as Packing Lists, transfer manifests, physical inventory adjustments).
- Locate products by walking all possible storage locations, such as Receiving and Transfer staging areas, fulfillment areas, and overstock locations in all warehouses.
- Work with Operations Team to determine root causes on inventory discrepancies and develop and implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
- Support Order Fulfillment and Sales teams by answering all email inquiries in a timely manner.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by manager.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
- Understanding of concept of sellable unit of measure, purchasing unit of measure, master case quantities, and pallet quantities.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Previous experience with cycle counting and root cause analysis / troubleshooting.
- Ability to work standing or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively independently and with cross‑functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
