- Create and maintain manufacturing systems and processes which ensure products offered for sale by Steiner eOptics consistently meet or exceed customer expectations and applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.
- Define and develop manufacturing processes and systems throughout supply chain which reliably meet or exceed capability index and quality assurance standards established by the Company.
- Define and develop manufacturing and material handling processes throughout supply chain which reliably meet or exceed capacity requirements of the organization.
- Support organizational compliance with ISO 9001:2015 certification.
- Create and document current and future state value stream maps of critical processes deployed throughout enterprise in order to identify and quantify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Act as subject matter expert for organization in elimination of waste through application of LEAN principles to include defining value, mapping value streams, creating flow, establishing pull and pursuing perfection.
- Facilitate and lead cross-functional Kaizen events for organization.
- Apply line balancing techniques to optimize labor utilization.
- Create, implement and document reliable root cause solutions.
- Analyze data streams and apply statistical techniques to identify natural versus unnatural sources of variation. Implement methods and procedures to effectively manage variability throughout manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Continuously pursue identification, quantification and reduction of variability about nominal. Facilitate design and implementation of processes and controls necessary to ensure reliable delivery of conforming products.
- Champion data-driven decision making throughout organization.
- Create and maintain written assembly instructions and procedures.
- Create and maintain cross-functional workflow documents for critical processes.
- Document and maintain accurate work center identification, cycle times and labor content utilizing ERP routers as system of record.
- Create and submit capital investment requests for approval.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years experience working as Manufacturing Engineer.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills required.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
- Working knowledge in operation of common Quality Assurance tools.
- Competent using Microsoft Office applications. (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Adherence to Company safety policies and procedures required.
- Ability to pass drug screen.
- Solid Works experience preferred.
- PDM Enterprise experience preferred
- Frequently requires handling and repetitive motions of materials and materials weighing up to 25 pounds
- Frequently sitting in a cubicle environment with occasional walking/standing
