Job Description
Our facility in Miamisburg, Ohio specializes in the design, manufacture and test of energetic safety systems including electronic safe, arm and fire (ESAF) devices and firing modules (FMs), ignition safety devices (ISDs), custom energetics, and Blue Chip detonators. The site serves a variety of high-performance applications such as precision munitions, tactical missiles, launch vehicles, and strategic missiles.
We are currently seeking an energetic and results‑driven Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Design Team. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the conceptual and detailed design of Electronic Safe and Arm Devices (ESADs) and Ignition Safety Devices (ISDs) for missile programs.
What You’ll Do- Develop ESADs and ISDs that meet customer design specifications and generate designs for internal needs.
- Work closely with Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management to design, manufacture, and sustain products with an emphasis on performance, manufacturability, and testability.
- Originates and refines existing designs, including detailed design, tolerance studies, and selection of electronic components while accounting for shock, vibration, and thermal stress.
- Prepare engineering specifications, parts lists, time estimates, and test and fabrication schedules.
- Write engineering reports and assist in the preparation of technical proposals.
- Participate in and conduct specification reviews, design reviews, pre‑production builds, debugging, and product testing at internal, government, and/or customer labs.
- Plan and determine test procedures.
- Conduct laboratory or field test experiments and investigations, and correlate and interpret observations and results.
- Provide technical support for some mature products currently in production.
- Interface with customers as a technical expert for one or more product lines.
- BS degree in electrical engineering or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of design/development experience or equivalent training in designing circuits with electronic components.
- Knowledge of electronic design software (Altium, PSpice/LTSpice preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Previous experience with military high‑reliability programs and Military Standards is desirable.
- Ingenuity and attention to detail.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
