Automation Technician

Yaskawa America Inc. is seeking a skilled Automation Technician to join our dynamic team in the Technical & Maintenance department. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing our automation solutions, encompassing robotics and motion control systems. The technician will play a vital role in ensuring the operational integrity and innovation of our automation processes, aligning with our commitment to improve efficiency and effectiveness across global industries.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair automation equipment including robotic systems and motion controls.
• Troubleshoot complex systems to diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment runs smoothly and reliably.
• Assist in the development and testing of new automation systems.
• Collaborate with engineers and other personnel to identify, define, and solve developmental problems.
• Analyze data and make recommendations for improving system efficiencies.
• Provide technical support and training to other team members and departments on automation equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

Required Skills

• Strong technical ability in automation systems and controls.
• Proficient in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), especially Yaskawa controllers.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting.
• Capable of reading and interpreting complex technical drawings and schematics.
• Highly skilled in using diagnostic tools and software for automation technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
