Sr. Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Dayton, Ohio. This is a contract position within the metal fabrication industry, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in general accounting practices and a proven ability to manage critical financial processes.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee month-end closing procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting.

- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly recorded.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial accuracy.

- Reconcile accounts, including bank reconciliations, to identify and resolve discrepancies.

- Conduct regular reviews and analyses of financial statements to support decision-making.

- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Utilize JD Edwards Enterprise One to manage accounting tasks efficiently.

- Monitor and improve accounting processes to enhance workflow and accuracy.

- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.

- Analyze financial data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements - Extensive experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Proficiency in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.

- Strong knowledge of preparing and posting journal entries.

- Expertise in account reconciliation, including bank reconciliations.

- Familiarity with JD Edwards Enterprise One software.

- Ability to analyze financial data and present actionable insights.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
