Your Impact
As an Academy Skills Instructor, you will deliver foundational manufacturing skills training and support employee development within our Miamisburg manufacturing facility. You will play a critical role in preparing new team members for success by providing engaging skills-based instruction, validating competency, and reinforcing standard work practices. Your efforts will help build a highly skilled workforce capable of delivering quality products with speed, precision, and safety.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Facilitate recurring MFG
    101 training sessions for new manufacturing team members
  • Own and maintain manufacturing training content, partnering with the Technical Learning Developer to continuously improve materials and training effectiveness
  • Conduct competency assessments to validate skill attainment and production readiness
  • Update training content to reflect changes in production processes, equipment, and standard work requirements
  • Maintain the Skills Lab, including training equipment, simulators, and workstations
  • Perform minor repairs and coordinate maintenance activities for training equipment as needed
  • Maintain accurate training records, documentation, and participation tracking
  • Provide on-the-floor coaching and reinforcement of standard work practices
  • Partner with Group Coaches and subject matter experts to develop, document, and improve Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)
  • Deliver targeted training sessions to support process changes, production initiatives, and skill development needs
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement throughout all training activities

Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment required
  • Previous experience facilitating skills-based training, onboarding, or on-the-job training preferred
  • Ability to evaluate performance, identify skill gaps, and provide constructive coaching and feedback
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support employees at all experience levels
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and functional teams
  • Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and adherence to standard work practices
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Employees must be able to communicate effectively and work in both manufacturing and classroom-style training environments. This position requires standing, walking, demonstrating assembly techniques, operating training equipment, and observing employee performance throughout the workday.
  • Physical requirements include frequent movement throughout the manufacturing facility, use of hands and tools during demonstrations, and the ability to occasionally lift training materials, equipment, and components.
  • The work environment includes office, classroom, and production floor settings with exposure to manufacturing equipment, moderate noise levels, and standard industrial conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while on the production floor.
