The TRUMPF Tube Laser Specialist is a senior individual contributor responsible for the safe setup, operation, and optimization of TRUMPF Tru Laser Tube cutting systems in an onsite manufacturing environment. This role executes complex tube and profile cutting work, makes programming and machine parameter adjustments, verifies dimensional quality, and supports equipment reliability through routine maintenance and troubleshooting. The position directly supports safety, quality, throughput, and on-time production by consistently producing accurate parts to specification and partnering with Production, Quality, and Maintenance as needed

• Set up and operate TRUMPF Tru Laser Tube equipment, including 5000 and 7000 series machines, in accordance with production schedules, work instructions, and safety requirements.
• Load and stage round, square, rectangular, and open-profile tube or pipe stock using approved material-handling equipment, overhead cranes, or automated loading systems.
• Select, install, and adjust nozzles, lenses, chuck jaws, and other machine tooling based on material type, geometry, and thickness.
• Interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and GD&T requirements to ensure parts are produced to specification.
• Use TRUMPF Tru Tops Tube, Boost, or equivalent software to review, call up, modify, and optimize nested programs at the machine console.
• Adjust laser parameters, including power, feed rate, and assist-gas pressure, to maintain cut quality, productivity, and material yield.
• Inspect finished components using calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other precision measuring tools; identify and correct out-of-tolerance conditions.
• Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance, including cleaning optics, checking fluid levels, inspecting consumables, and maintaining the work area.
• Troubleshoot cut-quality issues such as dross, taper, burning, and minor mechanical or software faults; elevate major equipment issues to Maintenance or TRUMPF service support.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records and communicate material, machine, quality, or schedule issues promptly to leadership and support functions.
• Follow all safety procedures, required PPE, lockout/tagout expectations, and material-handling practices while supporting a clean and organized fabrication environment.

• Minimum 3-5 years of dedicated experience setting up and operating TRUMPF tube laser equipment
• Working knowledge of TRUMPF Tru Tops Tube, Boost, or equivalent nesting/programming software; ability to make program and parameter adjustments at the machine.
• Proficiency reading blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
• Strong understanding of laser cutting fundamentals, tube/profile processing, cut-quality variables, and basic machine troubleshooting.
• Experience operating forklifts, material-handling equipment, and overhead cranes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently on complex jobs, manage competing production priorities, and communicate effectively with Production, Quality, and Maintenance.
