Dialysis Registered Nurse

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager, or Charge Nurse, the Dialysis Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise care to patients admitted to the dialysis unit. The RN plans, coordinates, and provides patient care including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post‑hospitalization, and access to community resources. Duties may also include charge nurse responsibilities (ACLS certification required) and any other related tasks as assigned.

• Use the nursing process to deliver, direct, and supervise patient care in the dialysis unit.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care, including interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching, and accessing community resources.
• Oversee dialysis treatments for patients with acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including charge nurse duties (ACLS certification required).

• Registered Nurse license in the state where applying.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days; ACLS is required from day one for all Charge Nurses, High OBS, and ICU.
• Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required.
