Position OverviewThe Business Development (BD) role at Performance Wraps is a full-cycle, outside sales position responsible for generating
new
business through outbound efforts and closing complex opportunities that require in-person selling.
Our Business Development team is divided into two primary market segments:
Home Services and Education & Government
. While both segments are important to the company, each Market Expert will typically be assigned ownership of one segment and will be responsible for building relationships, developing referral networks, creating sales opportunities, and becoming a trusted resource within that market. The goal is to truly understand your customers, their challenges, and the industries that support them so you can build meaningful connections and long-term partnerships.
Market assignments, activity expectations, and scorecards are determined by management and may evolve as the company grows and opportunities change.
This position also requires having a good reputation in the community,both in your personal life and your professional life. Community involvement is not limited to just attending some networking events. Joining committees, taking on event-volunteering roles and contributing positively to these teams are expected. This is crucial to the success of a BD and to maintaining Performance Wraps’ image within the local business community.
Networking, volunteering, and community events occur outside traditional business hours, and attendance is expected as part of building and maintaining professional relationships.
This role is not responsible for handling inbound leads by default
. Inbound leads are owned by the Front Desk and are only assigned to Business Development under clearly defined escalation triggers approved by management.
The BD role is a performance-based position that rewards proactive lead generation, effective closing, and clean, collectible deals.
Expect recurring constructive feedback and weekly check-ins with the direct supervisor to review and ensure timely feedback, support, communication, and clear expectations.

- Building and maintaining a healthy pipeline
- Becoming the recognized market expert within an assigned market segment
- Representing Performance Wraps professionally and positively in the community
- Collaborating effectively with internal teams to ensure a great customer experience
- Maintaining follow-up cadence with active quotes
- Regularly attending networking and getting involved with & volunteering for events
- Working harder when sales are lower, versus getting discouraged
- Consistently maintaining accurate CRM records and pipeline visibility
1. Outbound Business Development
- Cold calling
- Door knocking
- Networking events & volunteering
- Referral partner relationships within assigned market segments
Attend networking meetings and community events - Build and maintain an outbound sales pipeline
- Conduct discovery calls and qualification
- Perform onsite consultations when necessary
- Quote standard vehicles and complex projects
- Manage follow-up and close deals
- Coordinate a complete and accurate handoff to production once sold
- Develop and maintain referral partner relationships within assigned market segments
