Software Engineer Sr - JAVA​/Kafka​/Microservices​/Oracle

Position Overview

Software Engineer Sr. within PNC's Technology organization, based in Pittsburgh, PA;
Cleveland, OH;
Dallas, TX;
Jacksonville, FL; or Miamisburg, OH.

Responsible for supporting releases and incidents occurring roughly once per month.

• Provide detailed technical design and development of software solutions using existing and emerging technology platforms.
• Propose and design software solutions to address complex business needs.
• Write code, conduct testing, and deploy software.
• Prepare technical and procedural documentation required for software.
• Maintain and debug software.

• Object oriented analysis and design experience.
• Designing, building, and maintaining high‑transaction, distributed RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong Java hands‑on experience (Java 11+ preferred, Java 17 if possible).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
• Knowledge of event‑driven architecture using Kafka or MQ.
• Experience with Kubernetes/Open Shift or other cloud‑based container management platforms.
• Proficiency in Oracle/SQL/MySQL, in‑memory databases such as Redis, and Hibernate/ORMs.
• Hands‑on unit testing (Spock/JUnit) and code quality tools (Sonar Qube).
• Advanced understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Experience with Dynatrace and Logscale monitoring tools.
• Experience with Spring Boot (3+), Spring JPA, Spring Batch, and Java based microservices frameworks.
• Experience with Gradle and/or Maven.

• Base salary $55,000.00 – $, incentive eligible.
