This is a position with The Marley Company, a parent company which provides administrative support to the SPX Enterprises HVAC Heating businesses (such as WM Technologies, LLC, Marley Engineered Products, LLC, Patterson-Kelley, LLC) and includes all Weil-McLain® branded products.
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As the Manager, Engineering - Control Systems, you will lead the development, integration, testing, and validation of embedded control systems for HVAC products. This role provides technical and people leadership for control system development activities supporting both new product development and sustaining engineering efforts. You will collaborate across engineering, product management, operations, quality, and supply chain functions to deliver innovative, reliable, and cost-effective control solutions while managing technical resources, project execution, and supplier relationships.

Required Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in embedded control systems development, electrical engineering, or related technical disciplines.
Experience developing, integrating, and validating embedded control systems.
Experience developing control system specifications and test plans.
Strong electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency with laboratory diagnostic equipment and electronic testing tools.
Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, execution, and resource management.
Experience leading technical teams and coordinating cross-functional engineering activities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
HVAC product and system knowledge.
Experience with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and connected products.
Knowledge of building automation and communication protocols including Modbus and BACnet.
Experience with embedded software development using C/C++.
Experience with LabVIEW, automated testing systems, or similar engineering tools.
Experience with PCB design and electronic hardware development.
Knowledge of UL, CSA, and other applicable regulatory and certification requirements.
Experience managing supplier development and technical partnerships.
Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems and engineering change processes.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration preferred. Professional certifications related to project management, controls engineering, or product development are desirable.
Physical Demands
Frequent computer and keyboard use; continuous use of computer monitors and engineering software tools. Ability to work in laboratory and manufacturing environments. Occasional lifting of testing equipment, components, or materials as required. Ability to safely operate laboratory diagnostic and testing equipment.
Travel & Working Environment
Primarily office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments. Occasional exposure to manufacturing conditions including noise, heat, and moving equipment. Limited travel required (less than 10%), including supplier visits, testing activities, and support of business operations.
