About the Role:The Laser Lead is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing and managing laser operations within a manufacturing or production environment to ensure precision, efficiency, and safety. This position requires leading a team of laser technicians and operators, coordinating workflow, and maintaining high standards of quality control. The Laser Lead will collaborate closely with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to optimize laser processes and troubleshoot technical issues.
Additionally, the role involves training and mentoring staff on laser equipment usage, safety protocols, and best practices. Ultimately, the Laser Lead ensures that laser operations contribute effectively to the overall production goals while adhering to all regulatory and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with industrial laser equipment in a manufacturing or production setting.
- Proven experience in supervising or leading a team in a technical environment.
- Strong understanding of laser safety standards and operational procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with CNC laser systems and programming.
- Ability to read Blue Prints
- Experience using CAD/CAM software for laser process planning.
- Basic metal working background
- Supervise daily laser cutting, engraving, or welding operations to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of laser technicians and operators to enhance their skills and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize laser equipment performance and implement process improvements.
- Monitor and maintain laser machinery, performing routine inspections and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations and company policies related to laser operation and workplace safety.
The Laser Lead utilizes technical skills daily to operate and oversee complex laser machinery, ensuring precision and quality in production outputs. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing and motivating the laser operations team, as well as coordinating with cross-functional departments. Problem-solving skills are applied to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize laser processes for efficiency and safety. Knowledge of safety protocols is critical to maintain a secure working environment and comply with regulatory standards.
Additionally, familiarity with technical documentation and software tools supports accurate planning and execution of laser tasks.
