Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is excited to partner with a leading chemical manufacturer in Cassopolis, MI!
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join their Finance team as a direct hire. In this role, you will support key accounting functions including cost accounting, financial reporting, sales reporting, statistical analysis, and reconciliation activities. You will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial records, supporting intercompany accounting, and maintaining fixed asset and depreciation schedules.

Key Responsibilities- Analyze accounting records, financial statements, and internal reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support cost accounting, inventory valuation, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Process financial transactions including journal entries, invoices, ACH payments, wire transfers, and A/P checks.
- Maintain general ledger and sub‑ledger accuracy through consistent reconciliation (“Audit Book”).
- Provide support for intercompany purchases, sales, and reconciliation/confirmation processes (monthly & quarterly).
- Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and construction‑in‑progress reporting across multiple physical sites.
- Collaborate with the Staff Accountant, A/P‑A/R teams, and Financial Analyst on reporting and transactional needs.
- Assist the Accounting Manager and Director of Accounting with special projects and departmental assignments.
- Develop and improve systems for maintaining financial records using modern technologies.
- Manage 401(k) payment processes and ensure documentation conforms to approval matrices.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (required).
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (preferred).
- Prior experience with an ERP system such as SAP, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics (preferred).
- Ability to work independently and manage day‑to‑day accounting tasks.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Creative approach to complex challenges and process improvements.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Humble, curious, and eager to learn and collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
This role primarily operates in a professional office setting, with occasional tasks in manufacturing or warehouse environments. Standard office equipment—computers, phones, filing systems, and photocopiers—is routinely used.
