Accounting Specialist Hastings

West Michigan organization, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations in a collaborative, on-site environment. This role requires a high level of accuracy, efficiency, and partnership across the accounting team to ensure reliable financial reporting.

• Process and review high volumes of financial transactions, including invoice matching and coding
• Coordinate approvals and assist with payment processing activities
• Manage shared inbox communications and respond to vendor inquiries
• Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Maintain accurate financial records and support reporting requirements
• Prepare audit schedules and assist with audit requests
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Provide cross-functional support across accounting and finance, including payroll and inventory processes

• Hands‑on role with broad accounting exposure

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong Excel skills (spreadsheets, formulas)
• Experience working in an ERP or accounting system
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
