Step into the Numbers Behind the Shop Floor At Sintel Inc. in Spring Lake, Michigan, you’ll connect the precision of metal fabrication with the rigor of finance. As our Plant Accounting Specialist, you’ll own the day-to-day accounting engine—bringing clarity to payables, receivables, cash, and reporting in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
A Day in Your Role Morning:
Reconcile daily bank activity, review expense reports, and line up ACH payments. Match invoices to POs and prepare vendor payments while maintaining accurate vendor files and onboarding new vendor records.
Midday:
Issue customer invoices, apply cash receipts, monitor JPM, and manage collections to keep AR current.
Afternoon:
Generate weekly reporting—payroll summaries, accrual entries, costing utilities, and draft financial statements. Support the ADP time & attendance process as the payroll backup. Coordinate with auditors, manage sales tax filings, and contribute to month-end and year-end close.
Ongoing:
Assist with cost accounting tasks and manufacturing financial analysis to inform pricing, margins, and operational decisions.
What You’ll Handle Accounts Payable:
Invoice entry with PO matching; ACH processing; vendor maintenance and onboarding.
Accounts Receivable:
Daily invoicing and cash application; collections and customer account stewardship; JPM monitoring.
Banking & Reconciliations:
Daily bank recs; expense report processing; ACH payments and transfers.
Reporting & Analysis:
Weekly and monthly accruals; costing utilities; financial statement creation and supplemental schedules; financial analysis.
Payroll & Compliance Support:
Backup for ADP payroll and time & attendance; audit coordination; sales tax compliance; month-end/year-end close.
About You Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2–6 years of accounting experience, ideally in manufacturing or metal fabrication.
Hands-on strength in AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
Comfort with ADP payroll, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
Organized, detail-focused, and reliable with weekly and monthly deadlines.
Preferred Job-shop or metal fabrication background.
Knowledge of costing and manufacturing financials.
Experience with sales tax filings and audit coordination.
