Overview

The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for managing accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple properties within a hospitality environment. This role supports accurate financial management, provides actionable insights to leadership, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Maintain general ledgers for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • Develop financial forecasts and perform variance analysis to support business decisions
  • Oversee accounting for multiple locations, including related assets and property operations
Budgeting & Planning
  • Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with department leaders
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations for improvement
Cash Management & Compliance
  • Oversee accounts payable processes for assigned properties
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales tax and personal property tax (PPT)
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and regulatory requirements
Operational Support
  • Partner with operations leadership to provide financial insights that support performance and profitability
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Support audit processes and ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks to promote overall financial health
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
  • Experience in hospitality, property management, or a related industry preferred
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Quick Books or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems is a plus
