A great UHY client is seeking a Part‑time Staff Accountant
. The ideal candidate will have general accounting experience, Quick Books Online experience, and strong financial reporting skills.
The Part‑time Staff Accountant role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and analyze financial variances.
- Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Manage accounts receivable and assist with billing, collections, and account inquiries.
- Assist with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting activities.
- Monitor budget performance and prepare variance reports.
- Track and record donations, grants, and restricted funds in accordance with accounting guidelines.
- Support audit preparation and assist with tax filings and financial reviews.
- Maintain accounting records and utilize accounting systems to support daily financial operations.
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial information and support organizational goals.
- Recommend process improvements and strengthen internal accounting controls.
- Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience.
- Nonprofit accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Quick Books Online or similar accounting software.
- Familiarity with donor accounting, grant accounting, or fund accounting is a plus.
- Experience with membership management or nonprofit software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
- Comfortable working in an onsite environment.
