Small financial consulting firm has an opportunity for a self‑directed person to work on tax compliance, research, general accounting and related projects for a variety of clients. This position affords the candidate work on a variety of companies, as well as environments from entrepreneurial to well‑established. Tax compliance, transactional accounting, and account analysis experience a plus.
In addition to a foundation in tax and GL accounting, you possess a professional demeanor when interacting with clients & vendors over the telephone, email and in‑person. You are organized, catch‑on with repetition, have impeccable follow‑through and are comfortable researching on the internet.
Typical Responsibilities- Tax compliance (mostly seasonal)
- Transactional accounting – vendor bills, invoices, check printing, etc. (off season)
- GL account analysis
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Troubleshoot and resolve accounting and transactional issues creatively and proactively
- Professionally interact with customers, vendors, clients, etc.
- Research and summarize various topics
- Financial statement preparation (a plus)
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field
- Two to five years of work experience in a position of responsibility
- Believes in timely deliverables
- Comfortable with computers
- Well organized – particularly with computer folders
- Strong understanding of high‑level customer service
