Location: Lake Orion

Lake Orion, MI (Hybrid – 3 days onsite/2 days remote)

Travel: 3–4 times per year

Salary: $120,000 – $170,000 (flexibility depending on qualifications)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Controller to serve as the lead finance and accounting professional for their U.S. operation. This is a highly hands‑on, “department of one” role responsible for managing all core accounting and finance functions while partnering closely with the international parent company. The position will play a key role in building scalable financial processes and supporting future team growth as the U.S. business expands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day‑to‑day accounting and finance operations including AP, AR, GL, payroll, and treasury.
  • Ensure accurate financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS requirements.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reporting.
  • Maintain internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures aligned with global standards.
  • Manage cross‑border accounting and reporting requirements, including collaboration with international headquarters.
  • Support audits, tax compliance, and external financial reviews.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic support to leadership.
  • Assist in building and scaling the U.S. finance function as the organization grows.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • Manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with SAP and Quick Books a plus.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP; IFRS experience a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a lean, fast‑paced environment.
