Controller Position

We are looking for an experienced controller to provide steady financial leadership for a private club in metro Detroit. This position is ideal for a hands-on controller looking for an exciting opportunity at a well-respected private club. This is an on-site role and open due to a retirement.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations and provide practical financial leadership.

• Prepare, review, and maintain accurate financial statements while ensuring reporting remains timely and reliable.

• Partner with the existing accounting staff members responsible for billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll to support overall department performance.

• Perform detailed account reviews, reconciliations, and general ledger oversight to keep records current and accurate.

• Support budgeting, cash management, and routine financial analysis to assist leadership with operational decisions.

• Use accounting systems and reporting tools to improve visibility into financial results and monitor key activity.

• Contribute in a highly hands-on capacity, stepping into transactional and managerial accounting work as needed.
