Clients Conference Center, 6200 State St, Saginaw, MI 48603. Occasional work may be required at Delta College.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Description:
Role Purpose
We are seeking a Payroll/Timekeeper to join our team during a plant start-up. This position is responsible for ensuring all employee time and attendance records are accurately maintained in the Kronos system so employees are paid accurately and on time.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, reliable, and have a strong understanding of timekeeping and payroll procedures. They should be able to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Input, update, and maintain employee time and attendance data in the timekeeping system.
- Verify timesheet accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with timekeeping/payroll policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Coordinate with management and HR to maintain accurate employee data.
- Communicate with employees and management regarding timekeeping/payroll issues and obtain weekly time approvals before payroll deadlines.
- Collaborate with payroll operations to resolve time and payroll discrepancies.
- Generate reports on hours worked, overtime, and related data.
- Prioritize ongoing tasks, project work, and other initiatives.
- Support end-to-end timekeeping operations.
- Maintain documentation of relevant processes.
- Recognize, classify, and protect confidential data.
- Work in a team-based environment and support department efficiency and standardization initiatives.
- Experience with time and attendance systems.
- Knowledge of timekeeping and payroll procedures and applicable laws.
- Strong attention to detail, data entry, and analytical skills.
- Effective time management with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, including Pivot Tables.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across different time zones and cultures.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to process large amounts of data and understand business implications.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience with Kronos/UKG Workforce Central or Pro Workforce Management time and attendance systems.
- Customer service experience is a plus but not required.
