Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Education
The Assistant to the Superintendent and Board of Education provides administrative and organizational support to the Superintendent's Office and Board of Education. This position coordinates Board meeting processes, executive scheduling, office operations, and communication workflows while helping ensure the efficient day-to-day operation of the Superintendent's Office. The position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing administrative support to the Superintendent and Superintendent's Office
- Managing the Superintendent's calendar, scheduling, meetings, travel, and daily workflow priorities
- Preparing correspondence, reports, presentations, agendas, and other administrative materials
- Coordinating logistics and preparation for Superintendent-led meetings, events, and activities
- Maintaining office systems, records, workflows, and organizational processes within the Superintendent's Office
- Serving as recording secretary and administrative support to the Board of Education
- Coordinating Board meeting preparation, including agendas, packets, minutes, notices, and supporting documentation
- Preparing, distributing, and maintaining official Board records, minutes, policies, and governance documents
- Serving as a point of contact for Board members regarding schedules, materials, and meeting coordination
- Ensuring compliance with the Open Meetings Act and supporting FOIA and related records management processes
- Coordinating Board election materials and communication with local clerks and election officials
- Assisting with Board communications, Board Briefs, and related materials
- Supporting district communication and organizational initiatives in collaboration with the Communications Department
- Demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, sound judgment, and strong customer service skills in all interactions
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
- Minimum of three to five years of executive administrative support experience preferred
- Experience supporting Board of Education operations, public-sector administration, or executive leadership preferred
- Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and related technology platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Knowledge of Open Meetings Act (OMA), FOIA, FERPA, and Board governance procedures preferred, not required
Salary/
Schedule:
$50,369.61 Monday through Friday 8 hours per day
Reports to Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives
