Position Summary

Automotive Lead Technician – diagnose drivability and electrical systems while leading and mentoring a team to improve customer care and satisfaction.

Pay Range

$24.10 – $45.27 per hour. Compensation is a flat‑rate, performance‑based model rewarding each eligible task.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair vehicles to specification – braking, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical, suspension, alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
  • Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non‑mechanical customers.
  • Keep up to date with evolving automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
  • Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
  • Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within the first two years of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid automobile driver's license at all times and ability to drive customer and company vehicles.
  • Proficient in brake, alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair.
  • Proficient in general automotive maintenance and tire repair.
  • Current federal, state or local certification/license where applicable.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical people.
  • Reading, writing and math skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, automatic transmission/transaxle, manual drivetrain/transmission, automotive heating/AC.
  • 5 years of automotive repair experience, demonstrated skills via third‑party assessments or completion of a Vocational‑Technical School Program.
  • A.S.E. certification in at least 3 of A1–A8 (A.S.E.s preferred).
