About DTMB: The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
About the positionThis position functions as an Administrative Manager for the Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) and will provide administrative oversight of the Operations Section of MPSCS. Duties include formulating and implementing efficient policies and workflows, coordinating work efforts that impact other areas of MPSCS and member agencies, monitoring budget tracking and planning, and aligning direction with the MPSCS mission.
- Lead weekly staff meetings to discuss operations and program status.
- Manage the IT Operations Unit and the Network Communications Center, supporting ongoing operations, maintenance, and enhancements to MPSCS and other communication systems.
- Experience with 24‑hour or shift‑based operations, real‑time decision‑making under pressure, and leadership of both technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Accountability and performance management with strong communication across multiple stakeholders.
- Prioritize and triage competing incidents; focus on mission continuity and system reliability.
This position is located in Dimondale, MI. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. The State of Michigan does not offer employment to out‑of‑state applicants who do not plan to relocate. DTMB offers a hybrid work option: two days on‑site and three days remote per week.

- Four years of professional experience, including at least two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
- Alternate education and experience: completion of high school plus two years of safety and regulatory or law‑enforcement experience at the 14 level, or one year at the 15 level, may substitute for the education and experience requirements.
