Key Responsibilities
- Represent the US commercial perspective on global asset teams for early pipeline assets (~3–4 years from launch).
- Lead development of US commercial strategy with global commercial, medical, market access, HEOR, analytics, operations, and finance.
- Translate asset strategy into a US launch blueprint: market development priorities; launch scenarios/assumptions; capability requirements; organization design implications; field force & non-personal promotion considerations; budget/investment needs.
- Frame strategic choices: positioning; patient finding & market development; access & reimbursement readiness; evidence generation; customer engagement model; patient services/support.
- Create milestone- and scenario-based plans to prepare for launch before traditional pre-launch planning.
- Partner cross-functionally to define capabilities, talent, processes, and infrastructure; assess readiness and recommend build/buy/borrow.
- Provide input on US commercialization models (specialty, institution-based, buy-and-bill markets); support governance with recommendations, tradeoffs, and risk assessments.
- Enable smooth transition from early planning to launch readiness and in-market execution.
- Help define the strategic and organizational foundations of a new Business Unit.
- Significant biotech/pharma experience in commercial strategy, new product planning, marketing, or launch strategy.
- Experience in both US commercial/business roles and global/enterprise asset/team roles.
- Success in new product planning/pre-launch/launch planning.
- Deep experience in neurology and/or rare disease.
- Strong understanding of US commercialization in complex specialty markets (buy-and-bill, access/site-of-care/reimbursement).
- Experience building resourcing plans, operating models, and capability roadmaps.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrix environment.
- Cross-functional collaboration across commercial, medical, market access, analytics, operations, finance, and patient services.
- US commercial planning/brand leadership/business leadership.
- Global asset team/global commercial strategy experience.
- Specialty/complex launch environment experience; development-to-launch readiness exposure.
- Provider-administered therapy and buy-and-bill commercialization model experience.
