Assistant Administrator for Banking, Disbursements, and Reconciliation

The Michigan Department of Treasury seeks an experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Assistant Administrator for the Banking, Disbursements, and Reconciliation area within the Financial Services Division (FSD).

In this key leadership role, you will oversee the State of Michigan's banking relationships and provide direction for Treasury's disbursement activities and statewide cash and check reconciliation. You will lead two critical operational areas: the Banking and Disbursements Section and the Support Services Section.

As Assistant Administrator, you will guide the planning, coordination, and management of essential financial functions, including:

• Banking and lockbox operations
• Statewide disbursement processes
• Cash and check reconciliation
• Administrative responsibilities such as performance management, employee training, and staff development

You will collaborate closely with the Division Administrator to advance both short- and long-term goals, helping to shape division strategy and ensure efficient, secure, and high-quality financial services for the State of Michigan. Education and Experience:

Education:

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience:

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.

Alternate

Education and Experience:

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 14 level; or, one year of safety and regulatory or law enforcement experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
