Customer Service Intern

The Customer Service Intern is responsible for assisting with day-to-day customer support activities and helping ensure a positive customer experience. They will work alongside experienced customer service team members to learn and apply effective communication, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills. The intern will assist with responding to customer inquiries, documenting interactions, resolving routine issues, and maintaining accurate customer records. They will perform assigned support tasks using established procedures and service standards while developing a strong understanding of company products, services, and policies.

The Customer Service Intern will adhere to all company safety, quality, customer service, and operational guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer queries, such as email or phone call.
  • Maintain a polite, helpful, and professional manner at all times.
  • Familiar with products and services to relay accurate information to customers.
  • Communicate with internal/external individuals to resolve issues.
  • Use computer for various applications, such as databases management and word processing.
  • Create, maintain, and enter information into databases.
  • Recognize when there is a problem or issue and let the appropriate authority know.
  • Set up and/or manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents such as correspondences.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and

Education Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Sales background preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in related position preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently sit for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend.
  • Requires employee to occasionally work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
  • Occasionally required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
  • Occasionally lift 30 pounds.
