Front Desk Agent

Hillsdale College seeks a 3rd Shift Front Desk Agent to support its mission-driven, residential campus community. Working overnight, you will welcome and assist guests, monitor entry points, answer phones, manage check-ins/outs, and respond to inquiries with professionalism. You'll maintain logs, handle basic security awareness, and coordinate with campus safety when needed. Ideal candidates bring strong customer service skills, reliability, discretion, and comfort working independently in a quiet, late-night liberal arts college environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight front desk coverage, greeting and assisting campus guests and visitors
• Manage guest check-in/check-out, room keys, and basic reservation or housing inquiries
• Answer phones and emails, directing calls and messages to appropriate campus departments
• Monitor building entry points and report unusual activity to campus safety as needed
• Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and front desk records
• Respond calmly to late-night issues, minor conflicts, or noise complaints and escalate appropriately
• Ensure lobby and front desk areas remain orderly, welcoming, and secure throughout the shift
• Collaborate with campus safety, residence life, and facilities for after-hours needs or emergencies
