Role Description

This on-site Dental Assistant role is based at SCHMITT AND AMIN DDS PC in Brooklyn, MI. The Dental Assistant will support dentists during clinical procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, arranging instruments, and assisting chairside. Daily responsibilities include welcoming patients, reviewing basic medical and dental history, and helping ensure a comfortable experience throughout each visit. The role involves managing sterilization processes, maintaining equipment and supplies, and following infection control protocols.

Additional tasks may include taking and processing dental radiographs, providing patients with post-treatment instructions, updating records, and working collaboratively with the front office team to support smooth scheduling and workflow.

Qualifications
  • Strong skills in Dental Assisting, including chairside support, patient preparation, and procedural assistance.
  • Knowledge of Dentistry and Dental Care, with an understanding of common procedures and terminology.
  • Commitment to high standards of Oral Care, patient comfort, and preventive education.
  • Experience with Sterilization and infection control practices, including instrument processing and operatory setup.
  • Ability to follow clinical protocols, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and empathetic approach to patient interactions.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical environment and collaborating with dentists and other team members.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Dentrix dental practice management and 3

    Shape Trios scanner preferred.
