Summary
Corewell Health Pennock Hospital is seeking a full time Hospitalist to join their team of eight providers (3 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers) providing exceptional care for hospitalized individuals and families in Hastings, MI. Located along the Thornapple River, Hastings is conveniently situated between Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Lansing.
Pennock Hospitalists work days with a staffing model of one physician and one APP caring for an average census of 18, including up to 6 ICU beds. Nights are covered by a virtual nocturnist and an on‑site APP. Some procedures and managing vents preferred; a tela‑ICU physician available for consults through state‑of‑the‑art audio/visual equipment.
Essential Functions- Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
- Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost‑effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
- Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they relate to medical practice and quality patient care.
- Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
- Evaluates patients/specific educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
- Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
- Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services; acts as a patient/family advocate.
- Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and related activities.
- License – Michigan MD/DO
- BE/BC Internal Medicine Residency or Family Medicine Residency (with demonstrated strong inpatient experience)
- Certification – Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certification – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
