Title
Physician – Outpatient Internal Medicine
LocationSouth Haven, Michigan
DescriptionBronson South Haven Internal Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine Physician to join our established internal medicine practice. The position is hospital‑employed, outpatient only, with full‑time hours and flexible scheduling.
Position Highlights- Hospital‑employed, outpatient only position
- Minimal call required with after‑hours nurse triage
- Team approach with ambulatory care manager, social worker, pharmacist, and nurse triage
- Schedule offers early appointments (as early as 7:30a.m.) or late appointments (as late as 7p.m.) at least one day a week
- Full‑time with flexible scheduling, Monday‑Friday opportunities for participation in committees and quality work
- BC/BE in Internal Medicine
- Current and unrestricted state medical license as MD/DO and DEA licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient‑centered care
- Diagnose illnesses and prescribe and administer treatment for patients suffering from disease or illness
- Obtain medical histories, examine patients, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Provide counseling on preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet
- Maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges
- Know and apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
- Work in a manner that is tactful and professional
- Assist with standing, walking, and lifting tasks as required by the job description
- Provide medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients
- Educate patients on wellness and prevention, provide materials and resources
- Determine referrals based on examination and patient needs
- Assess level of urgency for follow‑up, referral or consultation appointments
- Exercise final medical judgment in all health care issues
- Prescribe medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients
- Order studies, tests, and ancillary services
- Document all services in the patient medical record
- Review long‑term cases requiring ongoing medical attention
- Consult with Medical Director and other staff regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues
- Participate in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs
- Oversee mid‑level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned
- Assist in resolution of complaints, requests, and inquiries from patients
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information per federal guidelines and regulations
