Position Overview A community emergency department is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician for ongoing shift coverage. Emergency credentialing is available for qualified candidates, making this an excellent opportunity for providers with immediate availability.
Compensation:
Orientation: $135/hr Hourly: $270/hr Holiday: $410/hr Overtime: $410/hr Coverage Dates July July 20: 7:00 PM 7:00 AMJuly 25: 7:00 AM 7:00 PMJuly 26:

Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PMNight
Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM Practice Setting Community Emergency Department Annual ED Volume:
Approximately 13,800 visits
Average Daily Volume: 3250 patients
10 Emergency Department beds Level IV Trauma Center Epic EMRClinical Responsibilities Evaluate and manage emergency department patients
Supervise Advanced Practice Providers during overlapping shifts
Respond to hospital codes as needed
Interpret EKGs (cardiology provides final review)
Coordinate care with consulting specialists
Collaborate with admitting physicians for inpatient admissions
Support Staff One Advanced Practice Provider scheduled daily from 11:00 AM 11:00 PMLocum physician will provide APP supervision during overlapping coverage
Available Services Radiology (CT, MRI, X-Ray)
Laboratory Services Blood Bank Operating Room Anesthesia Services Available Specialty Support Radiology Critical Care/Intensivist Cardiology Pulmonology Gastroenterology Neurology Urology Psychiatry Patient Flow Approximately 55% of hospital admissions originate from the EDAdmission rate of approximately 6.4%
Fewer than 7 patient transfers per 24-hour periodOB patients are stabilized and transferred to a higher-acuity labor and delivery facility when needed
Requirements Required Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
Active Michigan Medical License (full license required at presentation)
ACLS CertificationATLS Certification Experience supervising Advanced Practice Providers Experience working in a community emergency department setting
Current Self-Query NPDB report (dated within 30 days of presentation)
Submission Requirements Available July and/or August dates must be specified at presentation
Active Michigan license must be in hand at the time of submissionNPDB Self-Query report required at presentation
