Assistant Teacher – The Learning Experience – Clarkston, MI

Pay: $16–$18 per hour

About The Learning Experience

The Learning Experience – Clarkston is hiring a Supportive and Reliable Assistant Teacher to work across Infant, Toddler, and Preschool classrooms
. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, flexibility, and working with children at different developmental stages.

Our center offers a positive, team-oriented environment where teachers are supported, trained, and encouraged to grow in the early childhood education field.

What You’ll Do
  • Support Lead Teachers in creating safe, nurturing, and engaging classrooms for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Assist with daily routines such as meals, diapering/toileting, transitions, nap time, and play activities
    .
  • Engage children in play-based learning
    , sensory activities, music, and early language development.
  • Help maintain clean, organized classrooms that meet Michigan childcare licensing standards
    .
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.
  • Step into different classrooms as needed to support staffing and daily operations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
    .
  • Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred
    .
  • CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus, but not required.
  • Understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Dependable, flexible, and team-oriented.
