Overview
Title I Paraprofessional-Instructional Support role at Grand Blanc Community Schools. 27.5 hours/week, $21.00/hour. Title I Paraprofessional will work directly with students in grades 6-8 to provide targeted academic support as part of the school’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This role supports classroom instruction, reinforces skills, monitors student progress, and collaborates with teachers and staff to ensure all students receive the necessary support to succeed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver Tier II and Tier III interventions in reading and math under the guidance of certified teachers and intervention specialists.
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce instruction and support skill development.
- Implement intervention strategies and programs as outlined in student support plans.
- Collect and document student progress monitoring data accurately and consistently.
- Report student progress, concerns, and successes to classroom teachers and MTSS team members.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of instructional materials and resources.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and support staff to align interventions with classroom instruction.
- Participate in professional development and training related to MTSS, intervention programs, and instructional strategies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding student records and information.
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s degree, 60+ college credits, or successful completion of paraprofessional certification exam preferred. - Prior experience working with elementary-age children in an educational or intervention setting preferred.
- Ability to follow teacher and specialist directions while working independently with students.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Ability to work with students in small groups or one-on-one settings.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, bend, and lift instructional materials (up to 10 lbs).
- Ability to move between classrooms and intervention spaces as needed.
- Follows the Bendle Public Schools calendar.
